Dwell meter with 6 and 8 cyl selection for my 5 cyl mc1
Howdy guys, hey I just had a couple questions 1 is I have a dwell meter and i'd like to do the freq valve on my 85 5k turbo. The Dwell meter only has an 8 cylinder and a 6 cylinder scale. How would I use my meter on one of those scales? for my 2.2 MC-1 just also not sure how to convert what i read to get correct dwell aka duty cycle.
Thanks so much for the help guys
Cheers,
Michael

Shouldn't matter really if you are going to convert to percentage anyway. Does your dwell pick up
negative pulse or positive pulse? Typically, they are negative pulse and you might not pick up anything from the n75 signal unless you use a relay (or transistor) to convert the signal to what your dwell meter can pick up.
If you want to see in degrees what your n75 dwell is, I'd use the 8cyl one (max 90) and multiply by 4.
If you are going with percentage, just divide what you see over the max. Example, let's say you are running mid boost and you see 60 on the 8 cyl setting. That would be 60/90 or 66.7% on-duty cycle.
