Default EBC Pads and Stock Rotors Warping

I'm curious if anyone has had problems with their stock rotors warping.

I have EBC pads on my A4 and my front rotors starting going south (warping) after just a few thousand miles. I went to the dealer, they replaced the fronts. Now the rears are warped and the dealer doesn't want to do the work under warranty. Argh! What a pain.

I'm thinking about replacing all four rotors and switching to Mintex pads. I don't want performance, just less dust.

Go to REPCO "Metal Masters" (no dust and no braking).

Is Repco the same as Axxis?

Default Yes...

I run Axxis "Metal Mashers" on my M3. They stop pretty well when warmed up (I use them on the track too). There's still dust, but not near as much as stock.

Default Yeah I have the Axxis Ultimates myself

Very good compromise between street/track. I haven't faded them yet with my Stoptechs. I was just wondering if they were the same. Thanks.

Default Thanks, I decided to go with Zimmerman and Mintex.

Mostly because I know they work fine together. I won't be using them on the track. A friend of mine who repairs VW's and Audi's has a really good line on these and he's willing to do the whole job for ~$500.00 including labor. I can't argue with the price and he can do the job early next week.

So it's GOODBYE to the stock rotors. My service rep. told me they suck anyway - really soft and they warp really easily. Besides, I'm going to sell this car next summer so I don't want to spend big bucks on brakes right now.

Hey all, beware of EBC pads with stock Audi rotors.

Default Wow, that's the first I've heard of EBC's warping a rotor. Anyone else have this happen?

I've even driven on a track with my Greenstuf's no problems at all.

Sorry that happened and let us know if the mintex do the same.

why don't you just keep the pads and get aftermarket (Zimmerman or Brembo) rotors? no problems here

Default Seems like a good idea to replace the pads with the new rotors.

I don't want to ruin a set of new rotors.

I've been very happy with the performance and low dusting of the EBC pads, it's just too bad they warped my rotors.

Or, is is possible that my rotors were slightly warped after my first track event, then the pads went on and amplified the problem?
