Engine noise...how much is normal (1.8T)?
Maybe I'm being paranoid. I've got a 2002 A4 1.8T, just recently APR stage 1+. Checking out the engine bay today (dirty), checking the oil, listening to the motor; motor is making a slight ticking and/or chattering sound. It's not very loud, just slight as it's running. Engine is a bit louder than when new...this is normal I'm assuming? Thanks for any input.

I think your motor is on it's last leg. It'll probably blow up real soon....
just kidding.
I know the older A4's had some solenoid valves that would open and close rapidly, and that might be what you're hearing. It's part of the emissions system.
