Default Exhaust Question

I am chipping my car at the end of the month, and was contemplating putting a new exhaust on at the same time I get chipped. I am going APR (now that I can get it in Cali). I am looking for some recommendations on what type of exhaust would provide the most performance and make the least amount of noise. I have heard great things about the APR exhaust, but how much does it affect the tone. How much would a better breathing exhaust enhance the performance of my car. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Default Re: Exhaust Question

Supersprint is quieter.

JETEX could be another option. Carried by New Dimensions in Nor Cal.

Generally, an exhaust that is better than stock should improve performance by about 10%.<ul><li><a href="http://www.vwaftermarket.com/catalog/engine_perf/default.asp?product_group=nd2k&action=step_two&tit le=JETEX%20Exhaust%20Systems">http://www.vwaftermarket.com/catalog/engine_perf/default.asp?product_group=nd2k&action=step_two&tit le=JE

Default Just installed a Scorpion exhaust, and my buddy put on

a Borla, the Borla is really quite almost can't here it, The Scorpion is a bit louder, but the biggest diff between the two is the the Borla is actually Cat back, while the Scorpion bolts up just after the stock down pipe. However the Scorpion has larger diameter pipes, 2.5 vs 2.25 on the Borla. My recomendation is to do a Cat and a complete exhaust because most of the restriction is the cat and down pipe. It will make a noticeable reduction in turbo lag and should help to get more heat away from the turbo.
By the way both cars have APR chips on them.
