Exhaust Question

Re: Exhaust Question
If you want a full catback exhaust, you may need to do some custom work. How much depends on what components you buy. So far, the only cat-back exhausts I've seen for the Frontrak - FWD models are from Neuspeed (maybe still available from SPP) and APR.
I decided to go full custom, but I've done it in stages. I first ordered replacement muffler/resonator. See that info in this post.

Next, I wanted to do the downpipe and then have a shop do custom piping between the downpipe/resonator and between the resonator/muffler.

I was supposed to get this last part done today, but I lost my wheel lock. Easiest way to remove the stock downpipe is through the passenger wheel well. Oh, well, I guess I have to put it off until the replacement comes.
Some exhausts have both muffler and resonator or the rear muffler only. Only the 2 mentioned above offer a downpipe (that I'm aware of). In the case of the Milltek system, you can order the Milltek exhaust for the FWD and the Quattro downpipe from Stratmosphere, but you'll have to get a shop to join the two together. By that point, you're pushing $1000

I'm sorry, I lied. APR has a full catback exhaust for FWD = $900
but at this point, my custom setup is $315 for parts (downpipe, muffler, resonator, tip) and the piping will definitely be less than $300. More likely in the $200-250 range. Simply another alternative.
