First ever Dyno run.

First ever Dyno run.
So it's really hot today, 41 degrees with humidex, not the best day for this, and the guy had a hell of a time getting the car to go. Early on it wouldn't let the car go above 3200 RPM, after that it wasn't producing boost.
We had a couple good passes up until about 4000 RPM's in third gear, when the chip started limiting boost. On five passes with 20 minute cool downs my best run was 179 horse, 194 torque. Does this make sense?
what does this mean. The numbers would build to that point, stay there for a about 800-1000 rpm's and then fall right off. These are the numbers right off that dyno.
I'm having the chart and the mpeg's of the run e-mailed to me this afternoon.
Can someone explain this.

don't be too quick to suspect the car. I had similar results...
on a DynaPak dyno that was simply too large for the car. I couldn't break past the resistance threshhold of the hydrostatic drive units attached to the hubs. Car faltered, sputtered, shuddered, shook and fell all over itself and sounded awful til I threw in the towel on the 3rd attempt. In retrospect I shoulda quit after the first attempt as I could hear it was just trying WAY too hard at low-mid RPM's.
Some dyno's are rated for higher HP/TQ cars and lower torque cars just can't overcome their resistance.
It could be any number of things but I'd first try to determine if you weren't simply "over dyno'd" for your specific car/power.
If this particular dyno has a history of doing your make/model then I'd start looking internally.

Thanks.
We tried a 3rd gear and then a recalibrated 4th gear pull, it did sound like it was bogging a lot at low RPM, but it seemed to run fine when he got the rpm's up until it would cut out.
as soon as I got it on the road everything was fine.
bizarre, thanks though, you might be right.

Be happy you can dyno at all
Some places, like where I live now, there are no four wheel dyno. Minneapolis people correct me if I'm wrong. You just have to tune off the wideban and seat of your pants.
