Default FLow thru vent for '99 A4 1.8t

Im going thursday to my dealership to get the flow thru vent(the one that vents out into the right wheel well)that was originally made for the 2000 S4. Anybody know enough about these things to tell me exactly what good they do? I know they help cool the engine but what can I expect from it?

Thanks
Anthony

Default It lest out air from the engine compartment

Which if done behind the driver's wheel well will let your intercooler breathe. I have them in both wheel wells, so my car exhausts more air thru the wheelwells, and less under the body. If I was really racing, I might notice less nose lift at speed, but that's a real stretch. I did it to cut down underhood temps and let the intercooler exhaust more hot air.
