Forged Pistons - are they all the same ? (size wise)
Im not talking about the compression here, which I believe is 8,5:1 stock, but the actual size of 1.8T pistons.
Are they the same in various model years ? Can you put VW Golf 1.8T pistons into an Audi A4 1.8T and vice versa ?

They are not all the same.....
The bore size is the same, 81.0mm, and FWIW, I cc'd the chambers and calculated a 8.9:1 compression ratio. I'm not even sure if the 1.8T pistons are even forged.
What you have to watch out for, is the piston dish and valve reliefs. The 1.8 20V head requires a notch on the intake side of the piston.
Noitice the notch (upper left piston)

The 1.8 is an interference motor, so you have to be careful that the valves don't hit the piston.
Another thing to watch out for, is actual dish volume of the pistons. VW 1.8s come in various configurations (8V, 16V, 20V) and each has a separate combustion chamber size and corresponding compression ratio. Putting NA 1.8 pistons may result in too high of a compression ratio.
And to make matters worse, there are also different piston pin sizes that have been used, so a NA 1.8 piston may not even fit on a turbo 1.8 rod.

What I need to know is, if there is only one size of...
1.8T pistons for stock compression ratio ? Can I just contact the shop via email and order 1.8T pistons, stock compression, and get the right ones ?

Hard to say....
the Early A4's are AEB motors, the later A4's are ATW, the VW's are AWD.
The VW's have a completely different block, so there may be changes in the piston/rod that make them incompatible for use in an A4. Then again, they could be the same.
FWIW, ETKA list separate part numbers for the AEB and AWD/ATW piston. (AWD and ATW are the same #)

Its an AEB engine. Do you think that JE Pistons or...
JRC Motorsport will know what pistons to ship if I tell them that I need AEB piston with standard comp. and diameter ?

They should be able to compare JEs to an OE piston...
...before shipping it to you.
AFAIK, he (Rodney) has torn down a couple of 1.8Ts since they've been out. He should have a few used OE 1.8T pistons to compare the JEs to before shipping them to you (in Poland?) if that's what you want.
