Default frustrated!! my boost gauge only registers up to 10psi. needle won't go any farther!

i know my car produces much more than that because i checked it with the vag tool last week, it pumped out 1.7bar. Damn, and i just finished doing my custom install and i really don't want to take it back out. anyone else have this problem? it's a 52mm VDO mechanical gauge that goes up to 25 psi and shows vacuum. NEED HELP!

1.7 bar absolute is 0.7 bar relative or 10 psi. Your boost gauge is correct!!!

I get 2.1 bar in VAG tool, under full boost, which corresponds to 16 psi. Buzz noise is normal.

Default More on the clicking noise (buzz noise)

The noise that your gauge makes is due to your waste gate opening and closing. This is how your computer controls the boost -- it opens and closes the waste gate at a relatively high frequency. This causes minute changes in boost and produces the clicking noise or buzz in your gauge. To get rid of the noise, most aftermarket boost gauge kits come with a line filter (buzz eliminator) that you insert in front of the gauge, which smoothes out sudden pressure changes. Trust me, your boost gauge is working correctly.

Default Bing has APR Stage III which runs higher than OEM boost. Also you can't hear the wastegate. (more)

VDO gauges buzz under boost and that's why people install small fuel filter on the line. Clicking is however not normal. Since you only can show 10psi which is close to the OEM boost, you may have leak on the turbo hoses. Check all connections, and be really diligent when checking the Y hose holding the DV. The hose has tendency to split from inside where the DV is seated into the hose.

Default Might want to check for leaks in your intake system...

...and check the condition of your BPV. See if some oil have gotten into it to prevent proper sealing. Also, check your connections where you tapped your boost gauge. Hope that helps.
