Fuel System Cleaner (Need Reco. Product)
My wifes car has some built up deposits on the fuel injectors/carborator etc....forcing the car to take an extra second to turn over after turning the key in the ignition. No issues in performance or drivability. Parts do not need to be replaced, just cleaned per the dealer. Hence, not a warrenty item. Dealer wants 280.00 for the cleaning, they will flush the system with some substance 10X stronger then gasoline to clean it.
I wanted to take a crack at trying to use some additives etc myself before just allowing the dealer to....
Any ideas on best products to use? Of course there is your normal bottles of STP Fuel Carborator cleaner that one can add to a tank of fuel but who knows if that will work. Short of adding a few bottles of that when the tank of fuel is very low so a very rich mixture to work on these deposits, are there any other products out there to try or consider before I just give it to the dealer? Thanks.
