Who makes a better chip for the A4 1.8tq. This is my first mod before I do the intake and exhaust. Help?

I had the GIAC chip for a while and it was powerful. It kicked really hard at around 2500 or so but then the power seemed to taper a bit after 4500. I drove my friends APR chip and that car was soo smooth and nice. It didn't have the raw punch of the GIAC chip but it was smoother. My car seemed to ping a little each time I did full throttle runs at spool up with the GIAC which is not the most comforting sound to hear. The GIAC has been tracked tested to be faster. I'm sure you can find people with both, just ask and see for yourself. Matter of taste

I can't speak for the GIAC, because I've only had APR-- but remember that APR chips have the capability to switch modes from stock to performance w/ your cruise control button--

Nice when you bring the car in for service.

I understand that the Audi diagnostic tool can't even tell that the car is chipped.

Very happy w/ APR.
