Glazed R4-S Pads?
Gents...tracked my car last week and now it seems that it requires more pedal input to get the car to stop now (see sig for details) Spoke w/ Porterfield and they mentioned that they are probably glazed...and just need to take some rough sandpaper to them and should do the job.
Anyone else experiance this?

Yep....
Whenever I leave the track after packing up my car after an event, my pedal always feels soft and I have to push further on the pedal to stop on the street.
You can sand the pads, or you can just live with it for a week or so and they will deglaze by themselves.
This is not just specific to the Porterfields.

Re: Yep....
I just switch the fronts to R4 pads before driving to track (150 mi), and switch back to R4S when home again. Could not do with other race pads that need significant heat to work.

Re: Yep....
I do the same thing...in fact, I'm so lazy that I'll leave the R4 pads on for a week or two if I have track events that are that close together...if the events for more than say 2 or 3 weeks apart, then I'll throw the street pads on.
