Got the Mod Bug, and some funds... Chip or Suspension first?
I have the "mod-bug" I'm going to do a blitz dual Turbo Timer and Tint before christmas. The next (and first real) mod will be a Chip or Suspension. I am not sure which I should do first or if there are any bad sides to purchasing a used ABT chip. Is it neccesary or to my benefit to have a brand new ABT chip? have they changed the software, can the previous owner send the chip to ABT and get the software updated before I purchase the chip from them? Or can I send it in after I get it?
On a second note, I probably will not auto-x or track my car again. Most likely even if I did, it would be once, not repeatedly. Are coilovers neccesary? Overkill? A bad idea? I am trying to find a ride height that is perfect for me, one of my goals is to reduce the gap but I don't want to drop it to the ground.

Personally, Id skip on the turbo timer..
I know of 2 guys that blew their turbos with timers.. Both religously cooled down and warmed up their S4s, and they still blew them very early.. One of those guys blew 2 sets around every 18,000miles.. The other guy also took the turbos out early.. I know a lot of guys that have blown their K03s, and unfortunately it doesn't seem like there is much you can do.. I know both changed their oil very frequently, and like I said above warmed up and cooled down their cars..
As for the suspension.. I drove a B5 S4 with the stasis coilover setup.. 700lbs front, 800lbs rear.. AMAZING.. the thing handled like a dream.. Stasis did an amazing job with those coilovers.. The car felt less harsh then my TT with PSS9 coilovers, yet it had less body roll.. If all you want to do is drop it a little, then you might want to look into a good spring/shock combo..

yeah, it really sucks about those K03s on the S4..
One thing is for sure.. If your going to chip, put money aside for a turbo upgrade.. Its good insurance just incase they go at an unexpected time..
