Default Got my car back! Question about the new found boost.

After a valve job, new lifters, tubular exhaust manifold, new K04 turbo, my car is finally running again. The knocking/ticking is gone...and car feels nice - sure beats taking the bus or bumming rides to/from work. I'll have to take some pictures while the new turbo and manifold are still nice and clean.

One issue I did notice.. the boost reading on the gauge. Previously, (before new turbo, manifold, engine work), the turbo would run at 15 psi, with the occassional boost spike/creep at 18 or 19psi. I just noticed on the drive back that at WOT, it now boosts to about 20psi (well, the gauge reads to 20psi). I am alittle worried, b/c it never did that before. So, the only thing that changed are really the turbo, exhaust manifold, and they cleaned out all the hoses, IC and intake manifold. I'm thinking either:
a) everything is running alittle more efficient b/c they cleaned everything (had 90k miles on it).
b) tubular exhaust manifold has better flow?
c) wastegate on turbo is not working. The N75 valve not working?
Keep in mind... they did a head/valve job, if that has any bearing.

Anyone has any input?

Thanks,
Cris

Default Pix of the turbine (what's left of it). (mbww)

Images of what was found in my cat. Argh! This is what the K04 turbine looks like after 80k miles, number of DEs in the north and 1 DEs in South FL.

I plan to take the compressor side apart.. since, supposely, a piece of metal got into the engine and costed me the $$$$ valve job. More pix to follow.

Default It's the heat in FL...

never had this problem @ the tracks in the NE. It's so hot down here I saw some of my undercoat melting off.

Gonna get a FMIC and test pipe... that should help out... abit - all that before I hit the track again.
