GT30R turbo
I was wondering what the differences between the .63 and .84 turbine A/R would be? Would they both be rated at the same power capabilities? Less topend with the .64 a/r but more low-end? BTW, this is a turbo I have in mind for my UrS4 project. Your help is appreciated

Re: GT30R turbo
Dave Dawson and I have been on the GT30/35R trail for a while now. He runs a .83 A/R GT30R with tubular manifold but has a .62 A/R hotside ready to bolt up. I have a GT35R that now has a custom .62 A/R hotside ready to roll except for one small problem. The tubular manifold did not fit. We had everything apart and when we test fit the Euro tubular manifold and turbo, there was no room for the compressor inlet. The back of the headlight assembly got in the way. Dave has another vendor's manifold and he didn't have any issues. I do have another tubular manifold on its way but darn, we were so close. The manifold we have is fitted for urquattros and S2/RS2 applications. Anyone out there got a project that needs a very pretty Swain coated tubular manifold with a Garrett T3 flange???

Re: GT30R turbo
I saw some of his pictures of the engine bay. Looks really nice. I like the Hacke manifold and its design. Im looking into getting that manifold when I get to this project. Ive done a lot of research on this and Im starting to make decisions. Why is Dave Dawson changing from the .83 A/R to the .62? Too much lag? I know that the .62 A/R will spool quicker, but will it provide the same power up top as the .83 will? Sorry to hear about the fitment issue. Good luck and keep us posted.

the SQ manifold and a k26 # 8 and whatever compressor you want (t57) good for 400whp/400lb ft
And unless you go really radical on resat, this is all you can get. I am talking about a very expensive block, heads and a solid lifter cam. I did 500/500 on the SQ mani. very clean install and it has more HP and torque than most can safely drive. I can send you some dyno charts if you want.

Re: GT30R turbo
Dave thinks he's got plenty of power at the topend(I've driven his car and it does) and would like a little more down low. He doesn't have a front mount or Big MAF yet but does have forged rods, LWFW, CRB 6 speed and full 3.5" custom exhaust from the turbo back. Did I mention his car is loud? The Evahboost/CO Mafia is hot on the trail in ultimate performance. Mike Pederson just got his RS2 manifold/GT30R hybrid running in his S6 Avant. His green S4 is also running with a tubular mani and T-60 Garrett hybrid. It should also be getting some sort of GT30/35R hybrid soon.

I think an RS2 manifold will make 400hp with a larger turbo
There is no need to go to the SQ manifold to reach that number. If you did, the K27 #7 would work better. If Mihnea is right about the number being the volume, then the K27 #7 is smaller than the K26 #8. If the number is the A/R then the K27 #7 still have good proportions.
I would use the K27 family since it opens the door to the K28 and K29 compressors and housings.

The rs2 has known issues with heat in one of the cylinders at ard this level
The mani keeps too much exh in # 5 I think, cant remember now.And for 400hp the turbo I used would be way too much.\
