well i finally have had some time to play with this damn thing.. heres my dyno plot. Hp/Tq figures are at the Wheels. i did probably 10 runs (5 going north and 5 south) in 2nd gear from 2500 to 7000 rpms. the average was around this one. i have this nice flat stretch of road that's really open after midnight. the gtech has been pretty accurate so far in recording hp/quarter mile times for a few other cars (2002 Jetta 1.8T, 1996 maxima SE)-- so i figured it was my turn to try it out. the jetta in fact was dead on with real dyno numbers posted on vortex (around 155 hp at wheels, and his quarter mile time was also dead on with 15.2, which he got at local dragstrip in fall). its a pretty neat tool. it has so many functions. and calibration is what makes this thing one million times better than the first. heres my plot.. i figure with 30-35% driveline loss(wind resistance is also a factor in this dyno).. the quattro is doing pretty good for its age and mods (175K miles).
as far as timing in SECOND GEAR, the gtech records your speed and time also while dynoing.. heres a comparo of jetta versus quattro.. he had a rolling 20mph-60mph time of 6.8seconds while the coupe did it in 7.1 seconds.
this device is gonna be handy for any future mods. i wish i had it earlier.. i am actually dynoing the car for real on tuesday at currys auto in virginia (4 wheel dyno) to compare baselines before i put in the sport headers.
