Default Heat insulation downpipe and cat 1.8 TFSI

Hello everyone,

This is my first post here, and it is technically focused, I hope you can help me out. I have read a lot about the topic, but I have remained confused. The benefits are clear to me, but I am worried about the negatives.

The question I have A4 B8 1.8 TFSI, and probably many of you know, the catalyst is housed in the engine bay very near to the turbo. I have an idea to insulate them with Lava Rock Exhaust Heat Wrap.

Now, the benefits are clear to me - minimal, slightly abstract, yet proven, but still... easier and quicker spool up of the turbo, reduced lag, reduced temperature in the bay, and so on.

My main goal is to lower the temperature in the engine bay.

The question is: Is there a risk for the catalyst itself and the turbo in this situation, it is obvious that their internal temperature will increase, but will it cause a demage? And besides these two details (the turbo and the catalyst), is there a risk for other items? For example negative impact on the head?

I hope there are people who knows theoretically and practically the answer, that have an experience on this matter, and can help.

Thanks in advance!
