Here's the newest idea for the oil cooler, instead of an external setup....

This is off of an S4, looks to be about 150% compared to the 1.8T A4 part. Anyone have any comments or suggestions? Stock cooler maintains about 212(?) during hwy driving(not *******), and I'd guess the S4 one would do close to the same under more extreme driving.

Parts cost from audi dealer would only be around $300, comes with seal, but
you also have to get the hollow threaded shaft, which is only like $15. Everything would install simply and in under an hour. I was saving it for my track car(sig), but am considering putting it into my daily driver first...
I'm sure the cooler could be bought for less from a different source....

I think this is the same as the dieselgeek...
I believe this is the same part that dieselgeek sells.
I've heard you can get it cheaper directly from Audi or VW than their price of $210, but I'm not sure how much.
Either way I think it is better than an external oil cooler, because it warms up the oil faster as well as cooling it off more effectively. I would think an external oil cooler could make the oil too cold in some climates. And this looks more stock.

But the coolant warms up faster than oil...
and the warmer coolant helps warm the oil up.
This is probably more critical for a street car that operates in cold climates than a dedicated track car.
