Hey baas, did you find a Ford MAF that you could use in replace of the Audi MAF?

Default Hey baas, did you find a Ford MAF that you could use in replace of the Audi MAF?

Just wondering...
Looking at other alternatives (aka cheaper/possibly more reliable) than the MAF I have. I don't want a larger one, etc...just the same specs I have

Default Sort of....

There is a company called Pro-flow that makes aftermarket MAF's for Mustangs

They have the ability to flow test a MAF, and recalibrate a Pro-flow or Ford MAF.

They are local to me, and if there was enough interest, I'd consider having a stock MAF flowed and seeing if they could put that flow curve into one of thier 75mm MAF's Being a 3" MAF, it would require custom fitting, but it would be much more reliable, and shouldn't burn out if you max it out, plus it can be recalibrated for about $100 (in case you go to a large turbo kit that uses a larger MAF housing, you could put that curve into it)<ul><li><a href="http://www.pro-flow.com">http://www.pro-flow.com</a></li></ul>

Default Actually my MAF's got its center-post removed, and its been recalibrated! ;o)

I was working with a company to produce A4 MAFS, but they wanted 15 people to begin production!<ul><li><a href="http://www.mn12performance.com/mn12how-to/maf/maf.htm">http://www.mn12performance.com/mn12how-to/maf/maf.htm</a</li></ul>

Thanks,
Scott

Default Curiosity! ;o) I seen the Mustang guys had done it, so.............

I was curious to see how it would work on an Audi.

Recalibrated like so:<ul><li><a href="http://www.pro-flow.com/tech%20info/calprocess.htm">http://www.pro-flow.com/tech%20info/calprocess.htm</a</li></ul>

was there high pressure drop across the oem maf? seems unlikely at 70mm, and 1200kg/hr capacity.

was the recal'n with the ford body? bigger inj's?

what was the result of this mod?
