Default Hey CharlieG, how did you mount your JAZ oil breather?

I know you have it under the coolant tank, where/how did you attach it. did you just attach a brace to the firewall that drops down to the breather?

I wanted to mount it somewhere else (a more open area), but there is nowhere else that has room!

Default We both attached it right next to the ABS off of the black bracket.

This was the best place since the filter for the a/c is over on the other side of the car.

Default like mike said, there's a black metal bracket right next to the ABS block......

i just made another bracket that drops off of it & comes down a few inches to clear the coolant tank.

if you follow the metal piping back from the intake tube you will see where the breather system connects into the block, just remove the old pipe & put in a 90deg bend & some automotive hose to connect to the can directly. that saves a lot of extra hosing

also id put it as low as possible as the gasses that do come out of there can get sucked up when the A/C is on if it doesnt get enough air flow, i ended up having to extend my bracket a few inches for this exact reason

Default

Well you could always add a hood that goes over your breather so the fumes end up going downward.

Default I don't have that on my car, must be another early vs. late model difference....

There's just a washer reservoir there:

However, I've found a different area to put it (or at least I think I have)

Default closed system type

replace JAZ filter with oem hose back to turbo inlet. still will catch most of the oil. run hose off bottom of can near floor pan, with drain valve/plug. Did this to keep intake clean on rwd track car. may need a baffle plate dropped in from top of JAZ.

hear's a similar canton tank:

Default That's what I'm doing. Using the catch can as an oil separator.

Prevents unmetered air into the manifold under vacuum conditions.
