Default How hard would it be to change to non DBW???

Would I have to totally modify the wiring harness or get a new one? How much money could I do it for? I want a big turbo setup but nobody can tune DBW. I also hate the DBW on the audi, it is so slow to respond. Call me old fashioned but I like a properly sorted out cable operated one better. These darn cars and all their electronic doo dads are ruining everything. Geez

Default Should be "easy"

If you wanna go stand alone ! Most cost effective on the long run. Adrenalin has already converted a Golf 2001 1.8T DBW to non DBW using TEC3 engine management and a TO4E turbo.

http://www.adrenalinmotorsport.com</a

Plus pedals, throttle linkage, injectors, and I'm sure there's more yet...

Default If you're going with a big turbo kit, then you should be OK....

If you'll be making your own kit, then good luck on getting a tuned non-DBW chip. I haven't been able to find one.

Default AWE's KO4, MTM's KO4, PES's T-28...

sounds like at least three really good options there for turbo upgrades.

AWE and PES use GAIC software tuned to their specific kits.

MTM has always been a leader in tuning Audi cars, and their KO4 kit uses their software. Hard to argue with all those Europeans who are buying MTM's stuff. Even Istook/Aines racing team uses MTM for their racing S4... which is DBW, and which just won a race last week IIRC.

Why hassle with trying to design and tune your own big-turbo kit when all these companies who know a lot more about Bosch Motronic than you have already done all the hard work?? Just buy one of these kits and drive away with a smile on your face!

Just my two cents worth....

Default Throttle response is controlled by the chip in the ecu. Any of the tuners can change the way it

works.
