Default How the hell are you supposed to install the PES manifold!?!?!?

I just put the manifold on and I have absolutely no way to get to the bolts on the top at all. Anyone that has installed this kit should know what I'm talking about. I bought an offset wrench but it isn't offset enough to get around the head and where I can get to the bolts the manifold is so close to them I can't really get the wrench on. What tools should I use to get to these bolts? Thanks. What is different about the new PES manifold I am hearing about?

I have seen pictures of "custom made" tools for that problem. Someone will probably post it.

Default The new PES manifold is flat, I think that on yours the runners go up and block the bolts

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/1308/radt28.jpg"></center><p>right?

On mine you can reach all but one bolt w/o ANY special tool. There is one that you actually need an open ended wrench for. lol - but still easy.

I guess now I understand why DigitalA4 was making a big deal about the new manifold. he said the old one was a PITA...

Default yup, you have to screw in the nuts alternately (maybe 3 turns at a time) else you might not be able

to put the nuts on

Default The angle needed for the PES manifold might be different but it should be close to this picture.

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/19399/manifold_wrench.jpg"></center><p>This fits the APR set up perfectly. Better to bend the box end IMO as an open end risks rounding the nuts and limits the angles one can get the wrench on the nuts.

Default

I bent the open side to about 90 degrees and used a screw driver in the closed side to turn it...

Default Bit hard to gauge torque that way.

If you got em torqued down to JTE it's all good
