Default I ran across something you nDBW guys may want to check out.

Apparently the unichip, a programable piggy back ecu, is compatible with the AEB engines but the only 2000+ engines compatible with are the ANB and APU motors, which I think are the European versions. I've never heard of anyone using one on a 1.8t, but I've heard some good things about these from my friend who has experience with them on Subarus. Anyone planning on going with a custom setup on a nDBW car should check into this.

http://www.theracersgroup.com/applications.html

Ex Adrenalin Motorsport has already used it on their Stage III APR wagon to tweak the A/F ratio. Worked pretty well.

If you are going custom, might as well going to full stand alone such as Autronics

Default Being just a piggy back setup, does it actually control injectors

or just fool the ecu. The reason I ask is that if you go custom you will still have to get around the problem of not being able to run a big enough injector to actually make some real serious power.

Yep it can pull/add fuel.

Don't waste your time on the Unichip - it's "bootlegging" - go stand alone. 72 lb/hr injectors work well on 1.8T's provided u got a big enough turbo.

Default I am going with 750cc injectors

with just a chip, well that is the plan so far and yes I have a huge turbo going in.

Good luck. Guaranteed to make over 450hp crank

Hey on a stock 1.8T AEB (stock block with cams) with race gas with T04 (not sure about the trim) and Autronics, my buddy made 320 fwhp on load dyno running - best trap speed 116mph.

So a built 2.0 is a no brainer.

Default Increase of about 10-12% at most.

The nice thing is that boost will come on sooner and if the hp peak was not coming on before redline. They should see a 10-12% increase in hp but that would depend on if you leave the CR the same, if you drop it the gain might be lower.
