Default I think my Bailey DV is bad, replacement options? (Long)

The Bailey is not rebuildable, and I've had mine for about 1.5 years and 35000 miles...

I just got rechipped with a GIAC chip and added a Forge-Milltek exhaust, and it seems like perf is declining and I'm losing boost.

It seems like I'm losing a lot of boost down low, then at higher rpm it doesn't hold and I never get a good "kick." At low rpm I get some surging and this fluttering sound, which may be the infamous coke bottle sound people refer to. I have given it a few days in case the car was just learning the chip... I have had a few times where I would floor it and get a "woah," since the car was very quick, but it seems like I'm not getting that anymore..

Well, from recent threads, I have seen people recommend the $30 TT valve from the dealer. I also saw a glowing review of the new Stratmosphere "hyper" DV. I had great service from them for my exhaust, so I am considering buying the DV soon. It doesn't say this DV is rebuildable? Should I go with the Forge? XS?

Can anyone give me a reason NOT to order the Strat one? =)

Any input is appreciated.

Default Contact AWE-Tuning, the importer for the Bailey.,

If you got the Bailey from AWE they have been replacing them for free.

The new Bailey is rebuildable.

Default REALLY?! Schweet!

Thanks for the heads up, I was just going to order a new one from Strat, but I'll give the new Bailey a try, esp if it's free! =) I did buy my Bailey from AWE, and it was back in 2000 (I think) so it must have been the old design. I vaguely remember posts about some issues with the old design, but I had removed my chip and didn't notice any problems.

I think with the new chip, I'm not getting what I expected...

Maybe I should get hoses too...

Thanks again,

Default have you checked the vacum line from the manifold to the valve?

it could give the same symptoms as youre describing.

the stock cloth covered hose is prone to cracking after only a few months of heat exposure

Default Thanks, will do! I also contacted AWE

To see if I can order and pay for the new valve, then send them my old one for a refund.

Fingers crossed!

Even if the problem is the hose, I would like to get the updated design.

Take care,

Default Update! AWE Rocks!

Emailed them, they replied that I can get a refund when I send my old valve back...

Talk about customer service! =)

I'm gonna order online right now.

Per Todd from AWE, technically the new Bailey is rebuildable, but should never need it.

I'll post results after putting in new valve and checking hoses.

Thanks again everyone.
