Just like it sounds - the car won't move if it's enabled.

Uhhh, I don't think so. This is the new "code" that Audi is using to prevent ECU swapping.

Default no it's not

Don't say if you don't know.

An immobilizer (or immobiliser) is an electronic system which verifies that the key you use to start your car is the proper one. The idea was invented by GM and introduced on the 1984 Vette. The Audi system is much more advanced and works by sending a radio signal to the key from the lock, the key has to respond with the right code. Apparently with the Audi system a thief has about a 1 in a billion chance of being able to start your car without the right key.

This system comes into play for chipping because Audi doesn't want you to be able to get around the system and steal a car just by swapping ECUs. So the ECU is locked to the car (more accurately the car is locked to the ECU).

Default Who pissed in your corn flakes? ;)

My answer was at least closer than the others offered. And technically, my answer was correct - even using your definition. I was just trying to help and my answer was at least applicable.

Get a better attitude. I've noticed that you seem to react this way often. Get a little joy and happiness in your life. I think that we're all of similar purpose and interest. No need to turn this into a competition or fight.

And until the moderators start telling me that I can't post something unless I'm right - I'll keep right on posting. Thank you very much.

ps - I would have emailed you with this, but you blocked your email address from view. Now everyone gets to see it.

Default You should of seen how he jumped out of his skin when I

posted a topic that I readily admit was off topic. I just did not think it would matter that much since, well, you count how many off topics threads there are on just this page!
