Indicator issue
Hi, I have a 2004 A6 TDI Sport. The indicators turn on when operated but they don't blink. The hazards blink fine and all other lights work. I've looked it up and see it may be the indicator relay. What do you think? If this is the cause and how can I replace it?

Its called a thermal flasher relay it "pops" and is usually located under or around the steering column I had to replace all my family's Chevy ones at the time we had 3 chevy's. It makes and brakes contact every time the indicator flashes and eventually gets stuck on. The hazards are on a separate thermal relay that's why they work fine. My guess would be turn on the hazards and go noise hunting. I'm sure it's located with each other. You can also search on google your car and replacing flasher module. Should be a cheap fix, but knowing Audi it might not be. Definitely something you can do yourself.

Thanks
Thank you Kurt. Do you know if it is illegal to drive the car like this? Also, is this something I can fix myself or should I take it to an Audi dealer?

As long as you are courteous and leave enough space from the car behind you, then you should be okay for a week or so. If you do get pulled over I recommend having a friend that has a "repair shop" that knows you and have "scheduled" an appointment with.
First figure out where it is on your car and make your decision then. Maybe get a quote from Audi if it's under $100 w/part I wouldn't bother just let them. Or find a high school kid around the area and pay them the hundred to do it (wish someone had done that for me back then). If you do it post some pictures in the tread and a little how too, So someone may learn from you. Relay is usually >$20, but this is audi and a genuine could cost more.
