Initial impressions of my PES t-28 kit.
I decided to install this kit on my own and even though it was my first time doing any real work on a car besides basic stuff it wasn't too bad as long as I followed the instructions carefully. I probably spent about 20 hours working on the car total. At first the car was in limp mode due to a stupid mistake I made; not tightening down the hose off the turbo all of the way. When I finally got the car up and running I nearly wet myself when I felt the power . While first and second gear are improved its not until I got well until 3rd gear that I realized how much faster my car really is now. The car pulls incredibly hard to redline in each gear now and it feels like it would make even more power if it werent for my 7100 rpm redline. Redline comes up so fast in every gear that I have bounced off of the limiter several times already because I wasn't expecting it to come up so fast. The only thing I dont like about the kit is that I can't go WOT as much anymore because I will probably be doubling the speed limit in a matter of seconds. All I need to do now is solve the problem of my hose popping off because I trimmed off about a 1/4" too much, I will probably order samco hoses today. Also, I'd like to thank Big Nipper for not only selling me the kit at such a good price, but also tracking down a used chip for me that would work for my car at a fraction of what PES wanted.

Re: How's the power in lower RPM's? ie lag
Below 2500rpms the power is not terrible but you will definately want to down shift if you need to pass someone quikly or get some real acceleration. I would say as long as your above that you should be fine leaving the car in gear. The power starts to come on around 3000 rpm but in a totally different manner than the K03 did. While the k03 simply snaps your head back suddenly the t28 starts to build up boost there, the power comes on much smoother and keeps building until redline. I would say full boost is made well before 4000 rpm but I haven't been paying too much attention to that as of now. I've been having too much fun punching it at 5000rpm and getting slammed into my seat

Hehehe awesome! Welcome aboard the BTT...
Big Turbo Train. ;-)
Yes, 3rd gear really showcases the power. I had the intercooler hose on the turbo side come loose the first few times. You really need to clamp that **** down.
