Default injector pulse, fuel pressure and mpg calculation

recently i installed a k04 kit, which requires the change to a 5bar fpr.

now obviously the trip computer calculation of mpg is wrong.

there is a way to enter a correction factor with vag-com apparently:

----
Control module 017
Selectct Adaption in Advanced Functions
Go to channel 03
Enter value (00085 would be 85% of normal)
----

first, has anyone computed what it would be for a 5bar fpr? i know wouldnt be +25% more fuel...that would be linear.

from Rc injector's site they have a formula which may apply:

[(new pressure/old pressure)^1/2] X (old flow rate) = new flow rate

if i substitute:
4 in for (old pressure)
5 in for (new pressure)
1 in for old flow rate

i get 1.118 as the new flow rate.

or an 11.8% increase in fuel consumption.

i believe this the correct factor when just increasing the FPR on a stock 1.8t

feedback?

...i think 1.118 as a percent it 111.8% (which doesnt sound right to me)

Default No since it is 1.118 over stock of 1.000

so that means there is a .118 gain or 11.8%.

Default Does this mean you would put in 88.2% with the vag?

Since the injector pulse has been lowered for the higher fuel pressure making the injectors put out a higher rate of fuel per ms.

FYI, the correction only allows a range from 85% to 115% in increments of 5%.

Default here's the original post by yippers...

Too much optimism increase the value .... too pessimestic .. decrease ...

so yes i believe, if you could, you'd put in 88.2%.

but since you can only do 5% increments, i think ill round it to 90%...and enter:

00090

into vag.

original post
