Default Installed stage 3 In my 98.5tqm a4 yesterday, put the ecu in and.....

car sounds like ****, give it gas and the car is very sluggish. then tried to get into reverse and car stalled. so put in ko4 ecu an car runs fine. so i kept it under boost just to get home. Any ideas? could they have given me a DBW chip instead of a NON-DBW? also what year started DBW? Thanks in advance

Default Wondering, with the S3 ecu in, key on, are there any dtc's in there?

Also, does throttle adaptation take place? you could also look at channel 62 to see if the ECU's looking for a gas pedal signal, indicating your suspicion of the dbw chip, although that's speculation, I'm not sure what exactly would happen if that were true....

Did you put the different resistor in your ECU? Stage 3 needs that for nondbw

Thats your problem right there. You need to change a resistor on the ECU
