Default I've asked this over at the A4 forum... (PCV valve question)

I also used the search fearture, but didn't find anything concrete.
Any idea where the PCV valve (or whatever Audi calls it) is hiding on a stock '96 A4 2.8 12v?

Thanks!

Default on the 90 12v its called a crankcaseventialtion tube......

it goes from the valve covers to the "air silencer"(thats the name from my bently). i'm not too sure about where it is on your car could be the same. two black hoses that run from the back of the motor to the tube that connects to the throttle body

Default It's part of the throttle body to intake flex hose black pastic tube thingamajigy that you remove

two 10 millimeter bolts to take the whole assembly out after you disconnect the vacuum hoses that connect to the EGR and secondary manifold runner solenoid thingamajig. I have no idea what to call that thing hehe, but if you pull this tube out, you will encounter two large hoses that connect to the valve covers and a vacuum port that goes to a port in the venturi section of the throttle body. Inside the tube, it just has a rubber flap to control the direction of the flow - the PCV valve itself - best part, nothing to break or replace. Just easy to clean unlike a seperate PCV valve that could get clogged over time.

Default You mean it's under the plenum cover?

I'll have to take another look.

Default Yes, the whole black assembly behind the plenum, next to the first firewall. Look towards the

driver's side underneath the coolant reservoir area

Default That's two hard plastic tubes, right?

I didn't have much time, so I took only a quick look. I saw one hard plastic hose (diameter ca 2cm) that went from each valve cover up towards the plenum. I'll rip that stuff out tomorrow.
Thanks for your help!

Default [whipping out generic work provided wooden ruler to check 2 cm] Yep, that's it...

you squeez hard on the end clips to make them oval and unlatch.
