Default John/Xr4tic, what trim / AR is your turbo? when does it spool?

its a T3/T04e Turbo with 50trim .60AR
and .48 s3 exhaust, right?

When does this spool in your case?
Do you have any surging with this?

Thanks.

Default yep, those are my turbo specs....

I get full spool ~3100RPM on my 2.0

My car has a tendency to buck when running more than 15psi in the 3000-3500 RPM region in the higher gears. I think it's a tuning issue though.

Default thanks...

thats really early I think...
I then take it I can buy a sligtly bigger one.

Im thinking about a ITS gts61, but that might be overkill...

another question? You're using a stock fuel pump? Does the stock one handle much hp?

Default Keep in mind, that on a 1.8T...

the spoolup time would be 300-400RPM later

I was considerring switching to a .68AR exhaust housing, but I want to get it tuned first and see how it runs then.

As for the fuel pump, I'm running a Walbro 255lph High-Pressure pump.

My install is here:

Default well

I'll be on a 2008cc too, so that is good

I guess Ill try a .63AR stage 3, and a 60 trim .60AR compressor (t04e)...
My experience with my previous gt28r is that the area from 3-4k is very little in use. The fun starts at 4500->

And the walbro pump, I was thinking on that one, so since its working ok for you, it probably should for me too...

Default sad if it suddenly doesnt hold... like John say, stock is like 90lph. Equals about 340hp @ AFR 11:1

And that would be if it got to flow like continiously...

I wouldnt take the chance.
Im going for 400hp now...

Default Re: How much timing are you running in the lower RPM's?

Could have something to do with that, you still on the T28 chip?

I really dont think it would be a lean buck but u may want to look into it. Could be lean with lots of timing, just a guess or just throwing out a possibility since your car seems to be spooling up that turbo damn fast.

Also not really trying to be a (blank) but are you sure or confirmed that the turbo is all the right specs that u bought. The Turbonetics family is kinda a frankenstein group with tons of combo's and diff. parts everyone and their mom throw together. Cheap tho and works good.
I had a hard time with their reliability but damn they are cheap.

Default Re: At idle fuel pressures not an issue....

If your on the dyno watch the fuel pressure at WOT and make sure its holding. Do a few continuous runs to make sure the pump isnt tiring out. Repeated WOT runs can stress the pump out more. One run it can hold.
