Default Just got back from Watkins Glend Driving School... light screech coming from brakes...

As I was driving home to Boston, I noticed a slight screeching sound coming from the brakes when I lightly press the brake pedal. The sound disappears as I increase the pressure on the brake pedal. The sound is pretty steady, and I don't sense any unusual feel. Therefore, I don't think I warp the rotors. Did I merely fry my pads? If so, will it go away as wear into the pads or will I need to replace them? My brake set up is completely stock. I have an A4 1.8TQ. Many thanks for any feedback.

Default You glazed the pads...

..so you have three choices. One, ignore it. Two, pull the pads and sand them with 80 grit sandpaper. Three, replace the pads.

I hope you had fun at the Glen. I couldn't make it because I flew in from Hawaii on Sunday night and didn't think that jet lag, a five hour drive, no sleep, and two days of instructing would result in an undamaged car.

Drop me a line,

Mike O.
