Just got SPP EFK and want to fit variable thermostat - Anyone done this? or got Advice?

Just got SPP EFK and want to fit variable thermostat - Anyone done this? or got Advice?
Seems to me that coming on with the Aux. fan at 100degrees is a bad idea - wouldnt it be better to set it to about 90?
Anyone got any thoughts on this?

I used a fan controller - thermostat + relay in one...
I used a Derale fan controller. I only used the stock electric fan's wiring as a trigger, not for power as recommended in the SPP instructions.
