kinda OT - changed timing belt on a kia sephia, having problems now
I changed timing belt, water pump, etc. on my girlfriend's sephia, finished the job, but the WP leaked. Towed it to a shop, they finished the job (I had no time to complete), and said I was off one tooth on the timing. I swear I was dead on, but they're the shop, so okay.
Got it back from the shop, and she complained that when she's going up a hill (significant engine load), that it's chugging and bucking, she said it feels like it's misfiring like crazy, like when her sparkplugs were bad.
Question - is it possible the shop got the timing wrong, and that's what's causing this? i was talking to RKA last night and he thought that the shop probably just got the timing wrong. Would that cause these types of symptoms?
I've never experienced first-hand an engine that was out of time, so I'm just curious if I have to pull this thing apart again and re-time it (or have the shop do it) - thanks.

They could be wrong
It's been known to happen.
Don't know the KIA, but it may have enough room to compensate for the timing under normal loads. But, it may not be able to retard/advance enough when under full load such as you describe.
You must know what to check, simce you had it apart already, give it a check and see.
