Leaking manifold or valve cover on my A6 2.8 (long)
I noticed that my car would smoke when I came to a stop after driving for a while and upon inspection I determined that oil was dripping from either the valve cover or the manifold and buring on the exhaust (thus causing the oil). The dealer replaced the valve cover gasket and said it was fixed. I drove home and the next day I noticed the same smoke and problem. The car went back tot he dealer and the said they didn't fix it correctly the first time and said they replaced the gasket again. Well, guess what, I drove it home and it is still happening. Does anyone else have (or had) this problem? Can anyone give me a clue as to what could be happening since the dealer can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The V6s get an oil leak at the rear of the intake manifold....seen it a hundred times. My experience is with the "older" 12v V6...is that what you have? But yeah, most likely the manifold leaking at the rear gasket Good luck.
