Default lifter type in 1.8t???

solid or hydro?
if hydro what rpm do they start to wear out at?

Hydraulic .. float somewhere in upper 7's IIRC

Default I have seen people miss a shift

some end up bending valves while others did not. I missed a speed shift 1 time and ended up hitting well over 8K rpms and got no damage. I also saw someone go from 3rd to 2nd gear at the drags and he also did not get any damage.

Default Re: Do you have any proof of this cause I been reving mine to 7800RPM....

daily. Even got dyno's where everythings working like a charm...funny.

I even miss shifted and revs went well over 8k, I'd guess 8500RPM.

Default Nope no proof. Just what I've heard about float begining in the upper 7's.

Like Mike said below . .some folks have reved into the 8's withut damage and others .. not so lucky.

Default any solid lifter conversions?

if so are the shim over bucket or shim under?

Schrick has a solid lifter kit but I dont think it is worth the $3000 they want for it.
