Mobil 1 verses Amsoil

Mobil 1 verses Amsoil
Anybody ever use amsoil?
I found an interesting page showing head to head tests between Amsoil and Mobil 1's new SuperSyn. It appears the Amsoil blows the SuperSyn away. I have to believe this because I assume Mobil would have a lawsuit at the court the next day if these tests were not true.

http://go-synthetic.com/amsoil_vs_mobil1/amsoil_vs_mobil1.html</a

not a blow out
i think amsoil is better, but not a blow out on these tests.
1) volatility (at 250C). mobil-1 passes the limit for the tough acea A3 spec. amsoil was better, but this relates to extended intervals for changes.
2)the 4-ball checks antiwear additives, like zink. If you have a cam wear problem with mobil1, the amsoil would do better. no wear, no need to change.
3)flash point no real issue in normal use.
4)pour point ... amsoil at -60F vs -54F ....I judt don't want to be at those temps. both are lower than most need to deal with.

Lol. Too bad science isn't taught in school anymore
I love those distorted charts. What are the confidence intervals for each of the measurements? What is the statistical difference? Lol. I would bet that they are identical.

Most likely
too close to call..
Basically any good oil with a good service interval is what you need.
For a road car, even a good dino oil will do.
When you have a severe application, then you need more from your oil.
