Motor mount question and snub mount installation caution...
I installed an APR snub mount in my '99.5 A4 1.8T this morning and although their instructions said I should remove the bumper cover, nose panel, etc., I was fairly confident that I could R&R it from underneath without too much difficulty.
It turned out that I was right -- 20 minutes from start to finish! -- but in the process, I managed to pop the passenger-side motor mount and watched a few ounces of purplish-brown fluid leak out and form a puddle on the floor. I had removed the nut on the driver-side mount so I could lift the engine a bit, but I only loosened the nut on the passenger-side mount because I was lifting the _other_ side of the engine and assumed this side wouldn't move too much ... WRONG!
Anyway, now that I have to replace the mount, is there a better choice than the OEM 1.8T part? I don't want to add to the car's NVH issues, but I wouldn't mind reducing the amount of rocking the engine does under acceleration...

Well, the RS4 mounts fit the S4. The S4 mounts fit the A4 2.8. The A4 2.8 mounts fit the 1.8T.
If A=B and B=C then A=C (in this case there are a few more steps in between, but the idea is the same).
