Default My engine cuts out at 5k RPM - no idea why ........read inside for details

I blew my turbo a few months ago. So, while I was searching for another KO4, I decided to upgrade my GIAC programing. GIAC/Evolution Motorsports upgraded my programing to a 310 injector program. Ever since Evolution messed with my programing, I have had problems. First they sent the wrong Chip and the computer did not even work, so I had to send it back to be reprogramed, then they sent it back to me, and the car runs like ****!!!!!!

Any thoughts? My car pulls pretty good until about 5K rpms - then it shuts off like it is hitting the rev-limiter.

The only thing that is different from before the turbo blew is - NEW KO4(had a K04 before), New Programing, New 310cc injectors from 270cc.

HELP!!!

Default my 98.5 used to kill out at 5200rpm until I got the latest apr software, you may need to talk

to another GIAC dealer.

Default Is it blowing black soot out of the exhaust?

could be running too rich and blowing the spark out.

Get a VAG-COM and log the O2 sensor blocks and see what it does under WOT.

Default Did you end up changing the FPR?

The 310cc chip is tuned to be ran on a 3 bar fpr while your stock one is 4 bar. YOu will be running way to rich and this will cause the car to cut out once the turbo starts to move plenty of air.

Default This is the problem if your running the older 310cc injector chip

This chip was tuned on RC 310's at 3 bar which flow like Bosch 270cc at 3 bar. If your going to run those Bosch 310cc injectors which IIRC are red tops, you will need to turn your fuel pressure down to 33.5 lbs(2.3 bar) with the vac line removed and the car at idle. You can also just try starting at about 2.5 bar (36psi) and work your way down. If not I would say find some RC's or the bosch 270's to run it at 43.5 psi.
