Default Need advice on upgrading to APR S3 with 106K on motor

I have an opportunity to buy my friends kit along with the APR clutch/aluminum flywheel. My car (AEB motor) has abou 106K on it and still runs strong. Has anyone here done a similar upgrade on a high mileage car? What should I lookout for? Would the flywheel need to be resurfaced? Of course I will have a compression test done first to make sure everything is good. Also, would I need to purchase new gaskets? Would these have to come from APR or are they the OEM ones. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike5

Default I'd buy new gaskets and fasteners. I'm not a believer in reusing those parts. Bear in mind, putting

a stage III kit on any 1.8t will magnify any Audi issues the car already has. I'd make certain everything was 100% before installing a turbo kit on any car .. let alone one w/ 106k miles.
That said, if the engine is healthy you should be fine.

Default If the compression test comes out OK...

you should be fine.

I would resurface the flywheel, and get a new clutch/pressure plate. I had a used APR flywheel and clutch which I put in, and regretted it. It didn't last very long before the clutch was toast.

Definately get new gaskets. I would think APR uses OEM gaskets, it may be cheaper to get them from APR as opposed to the stealership, and they're more likely to be the correct ones.

Make sure to have the timing belt changed - better safe then sorry!

I changed the original timing belt at 65K.

Thanks though.
