Need help with figuring out symtoms I am having with my car...
My car has been under powered lately, and from watching my Air/fuel meter, I get a good reading anything below 4000-4500 rpm, and anything above that the air/fuel meter does not read anymore.. The lights simply dont lite up anymore.. I also lose lots of boost anytime I go above 4k rpm.. Could there be something wrong with my O2 sensor? Also I have a feeling that my catalytic converter might be clogged also, would this cause the symptoms I described above?

The old style stg III cat is CRAP!
go out and replace that thing immediately, it is such a restriction. It shouldn't be causing your car to not make boost but then again that POS is probably clogged like you say. Does it make any weird noises?

I'd start with looking for a boost leak
. .cheaper and easier. If that isn't the culprit I'd move to the cat. Either way I think you need to look at plug, coil pack, plug connector and the POS to eliminate that CEL on cyl 1.
Also . .ought you not get a reading from the O2 sensor regardless???

do some vag-com logging...check timing...etc...
do some 3rd gear to redline runs. boost requested/actual boost. if your car is not requesting boost, then that is a totally different low boost problem then if its requesting boost and not getting it.
