Hey all-
Lookin into buying a 1.8T, around a '01 model. I've got like $25-26K total (max!!) to spend. Think I can realistically get a 1.8T quattro and increase the HP significantly? If so, ideas? prices? Thanks!! I would like to get a sub-6second 0-60...

there's the pes t28 and the apr stage3. $3400 - $4000 respectively. both will require an aftermarket exhaust. cheapest one being borla for about $450-$550.

if you plan on having it installed for you .. pricing is all over the place. but it's safe to say $500->$750.

your chances of finding a 01 for $20k is low .. better to get a non-drive by wire model. 99.5 is the best year for that. dont forget tt&l for the car itself.

and in a few months or so .. you'll probably need a new clutch. =)

wouldn't the quattro have a more anemic drivetrain? go for 2WD if you want to have quick ETs. go AWD/4WD for handling. if you buy an older car (early 90s) for 10k then you have 15k-16k more for mods. buy a very recent car (98 and up) you're spending 17-20k and you have less to spend on mods.
