Need so 1/4 mile advice pls!
Went to the strip tonight for the first time in my A4 - only had 3 runs - bogged down off the line really badly twice so wont disclose those times ;-) - but the third time was still pretty bad off the line and got a 16.1 @ 83.80 mph.
60' time was 2.143
660' time was 10.339 @ 67.83 mph
I suspect I was shifting to early - shifted from 1st to 2nd at about 5,500 rpms, 2nd to 3rd at about the same and same for fourth.
Should I wind out first gear and 2nd gear more?
I may also be loosing some time between shifts?
And finally, my zhorst is stock atm - so maybee some top end is missing?
Where am I loosing time?

If your still running the K03
you want to take the gears to 6k rpms up to 3rd gear and then shift into 4th about 5600-5800 rpms.
Since you have a nice clutch you should be able to rev the car up to 4,000-4,500 rpms to launch the car and get down to 2.0 pretty easy.

Last night at drags.
Well seemed like a slow night generally.
I only managed a 12.60 @109mph,
but looking at various other cars that i have seen before it seemed most people where slower by 1-4 tenths of a second.
A Lot of people were having launch probs.
I watched your 2 last runs, and both looked like you bogged it if the line badly, once that happens, you get phsyched out and generally you stuff up rest of run, because you get angry with yourself.

You guys are pretty lucky to get to run at night.
Most of my runs are during high temp day runs. I also wont know how much I will get to run now since I might end up working on saturdays. This might leave me only 2 options, run wed/fri nights at Palmdale which is at 3000 ft or go to CA speedway when they open up for suday races. But I do plan on running at Pomona in Oct but that is also during the day.

Re: Only a 12.60
Yeah, things to change, when you are way behind others, its more oh well well type attitude.
Then when you get there there is i suppose more compeditiveness comes into it, and when you still sorting out some probs, and you think you have them fixed, then lay down a slower time than what you expected, you get dissappointed.
I tied going back to a pure bypass valve, which i should not have done, and experieced engine bogging on gear changes again, i have to go back to a hybrid type.
But the AWE-Stabilzer bar worked great and certainly stopped making my Transmission move as much as my 1-2 second gear changed where good now.
The APR Snub Mount wasn't doing good enough job in my car, now i have both and seems to be a good combination.
Just want to get a lower 12 before i install NOS.

I would not say unthinkable.
Just was a goal that is now reached, now the goal has moved down to low 12's and into the high 11's without nos. Which would be nice to see since the fastest VW 1.8t was running 12.1 on 26psi and nos.
