hi, i'm guessing we have the same valve as they look identical, mine is a GFB (Go Fast Bits - Australia) StealthFX. So here is what I can tell you about mine.

The top cap is the spring tension, you set this to adjust how much vacuum it takes to open the valve, think I have mine set to 3 complete turns but am gonna add some more coz it lets go a little early for my liking.

The ring below the 360 degree rotating vacuum nipple is the adjustment for how much air gets plumbed back and how much gets vented to atmosphere (which is what makes the noise) I think it has 12 clicks and have mine set to about 6, if I set mine to vent totally to atmosphere the car stalls at idle which I believe is expected as the air has been measured already and the ECU is expecting some air back.

To adjust mine, I take the air intake pipe off, couple off screws then lift off the pipe, then I jam my arm down the front and can just get hold of the valve, I get a bit bruised and scratched but is a smalll price to pay for little fun.

Here are a couple pics of my valve.

Anyway, hope that helps.

no problem, is nice to be able to offer something back to you guys, this forum has been a great source for me getting ideas on what can be done safely to my car, am slowly building up to some more serious mods.

at half vent it is not too loud, makes a pretty good sound but with the window up and a little stereo I don't really hear it much. you do need to get the spring setting right though coz it is anoying hearing it vent every time i back off the throttle a little bit, much better getting a nice vent on hard acceleration and gear changes.

Default spring tension to the right to tighten ot left to losen?

ok i figured out how to adjust the sound now thx alot for the help and sorry to bother u again but ya the spring adjustment? the top **** right? it seems not not stop turning ...i dunno how much tension the the place that installed put but is it to the left to losen and right to tighten? i am guessing that cuz thats pretty common sense in directions...should i be losen it or tighten it? oh ya and also if i losen it all the way does the **** eventually stop turning?

yeah the top **** is the spring adjustment, I haven't played with it too much as I was told too much spring will stop the valve from opening quickly and properly.

left/anti clockwise -
right/clockwise +

it should stop at either end, think it is 12 complete turns from end to end so if you turn completly left you can then start turning right to add spring tension, think i have mine set to 3 complete turns at the moment but will add another couple of turns sometime, obviuosly need to test it out to make sure there are no problems (don' want too much spring, as valve won't open and hold quick enough).

I was also thinking of backing off the venting adjustment to something like 4 clicks to see how that sounds.

here is a picture of the top of my bov, you can see the arrow pointing to the right and the + sign to indicate positive spring tension.

good luck.
