New Brakes and Suspension Tuned.

New Brakes and Suspension Tuned.
It sure is nice having a set of new brakes. Just got all four corners done with new rotors and pads. OEM size Brembo (non-slotted or cross drilled) for the rears, Zimmerman cross-drilled up front with mintex pads all the way around. So far the mintex pads seem fine, even in light rain they seem OK.
Now, my suspesion is another matter. My Koni coilover kit needed some fine tuning after installing new springs up front. The ride felt too low in the rear of my Avant as the handling was twitchy and the ride suffered.
Ride height was from ground to fender lip:
FL: 25 3/4"
FR: 25 1/2"
RL: 25 1/4"
RR: 25"
After adjustment it comes out to:
Front L: 25 5/8"
Front R: 25 1/2"
Rear L: 25 1/2"
Rear R: 25" 1/2"
All around the car feels much more neutral, the ride is improved and the handling is much more predictable. Small differences in ride height do make a difference, which is why I went for coilovers in the first place. Hard to believe but it feels like I'm driving a new car again. ;-)

My mechanics really got my Konis spot-on on the first try . . .
The car really feels great in the corners. I no longer fear losing control due to mere body roll.
How much did you adjust your dampening?
I went 180 degrees Front and Rear for a medium setting.

The Koni kit has been on the car for about 1.5 years.
I recently replaced the front springs and the rears had sagged a bit and needed to be matched to the fronts more closely. My dampening is set to about 30-35% on all four corners which seems to work well for the street.
