Default Night at the drags... 13.20

I had a quick run at the drags.
Only had time for 2 Runs.
Boost set to 18psi
First run was a disaster, missed a gear... and pulled a mid 13.
2nd run was better, but still not the best.
ET 13.20
MPH 107
60' 1.971
330' 5.64

I didn't want to give the clutch and Gear box a hard time, so i tried to slow the changes down and keep it smooth.
I also left it at 18psi, much higher boost levels are possible, but the engine is only 1800 miles on it.
I can easily speculate in its current setup, a 12sec pass is possible.
Just got to get the Larger injectors installed and software done, and may be a few more pounds, it should produce consistant 12's without a problem..
There were too many people at the drags, and the waiting time for a run was rediculous, so with a 13.2 on a quick squirt I was very happy with, knowing the car should post a 12 with a litttle launch practice.

Default Nice runs

Lucas,

Much respect for you. Keep us posted.
I know you will be the first 12 sec a4 1.8t.

With my current setup, I am runnning in the mid 13's @104. The hardest part is finding the balance between bogging and spinning the clutch.

Default That is very fast for a 1.8t

You would probably have to do some weight reduction if you want to get the times a 996tt can though, even after seeing all of your mods I didn't think you could run with one. But still, awesome work, keep it up. Run some more boost and dump the clutch next time, show us what your really capable of!

Default HOLY crap.. So now that you can either blow away or just

barely beat all stock cars on the road, how do you feel? Knowing that your A4 can blow away a 911 has got to be the BEST feeling in the world.. Or knowing when you pull up to that Ferrari 360 modena you will be able to stick with him.. lol, ah you are one lucky man.. Ultimate sleeper right here..

Default Lucas, you know Sport Compact Car magazine in the US has a contest?

They will feature in their magazine any 1.8T engined car that can run a 13.5 or better, along with skidpad and other performance metrics.

Perhaps you should contact them at www.gr8ride.com. Its mostly a japanese tuner magazine, but their editors are very knowledgeable and have some great articles. You also see a few audi's and VWs in there too.

I'm not sure if its open to cars down under but you never know, they may have a connection with someone there who could do the writeup.
