Nology wires............Experiences?
#2
Save the money. (more)
I had them on my GSR. NO gain. On the plus side, I did not have problems with my stereo like others reported, but they didn't help either. In general, just replace stock when they are worn, and fitment is prob the most important thing. The damn Nologies would pop off the plug! I had to check them weekly...
BTW, if this is for a 1.8T, they don't have spark plug wires, right? Direct ignition. Newer models anyway...
Take care,

1.8 does have spark wires, but . . .
they do not carry high voltage from a "coil". Direct ignition is also called coil-on-plug, which carries low voltage to the coil which bumps up the voltage and is attached directly to the plug. Special low resistance wires make no real difference in this type of ignition. Only for appearance, and that area is covered up by the engine cover anyway.

Well actually!
I'm going to see a huge improvement going from stock to Magnecor wires in my Integra Type R. They carry tons more voltage than my stock ones do, since my stock ones tend to pop off under hard cornering... Ever try to pass anyone w/ a 3 cylinder car on the track? It's not easy...

Honda/Acura wires and coil are overdesigned...
...Just like the German products. If memory serves me correctly the Honda coil in my GSR put out 50kV whereas most domestic 2.0L motor coils put out 28kV or so. The Type-R wires I believe are upgraded from the GS-R. If your wires are coming off in hard cornering I would recommend simply using some needle nose pliers and fixing the connection.
I concur that the Nologies don't do squat on a motor that already has a good ignition system.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Wires popping off is a mechanical problem, not a fault of the wire.
Basically, the higher the impedence the better since that does increase the potential difference (voltage).

http://www.unofficialbmw.com/all/engine/all_dont_use_nology_wires.html</a
