worry about rock chips instead. you'll be fine, just stay away from sleazy gas stations =)

Default Buy 5 gals of Toulene from a paint store (if they'll let you).

RON of Toluene is ~118 to 120. From there you can back calculate how much you need using a weighted average formula.

First Eqn.
(93oct)(X gals)+(118oct)(Y gals)/(tank volume) = final octane desired (mid 90s?)

Second Eqn.
X gals + Y gals = tank volume (16.4 gals, IIRC)

From the above two equations (with two unknowns), you can figure out how much Toluene to add based on the final octane you want. I wouldn't go much above 94 or 95...if the ECU isn't programmed to take advantage of it.

Default Don't buy that junk in the store, it doesn't do anything. Electron Man is right with his

calculations, this works. However, don't do it often cause it could wreck your o2 sensors.

Default hrm. mebbe i'll just flip the chip to 91 octane if things start getting a little hot. =)

thanks for the tip though. i'd rather not carry something like that in my car for the whole trip. hehe. know how much a gallon of toulene goes for approx?

Default Hey keep it on 93 and fill up on 93. I have beaten my car to a bloody pulp on 19 hours journeys

To miami, non-stop.
