Default Piston-rod upgrade.. suggestions?

1.8T with a T3T4 turbo, boost contoller, larger injectors, fuel pressure regulater, etc.

He is looking at JE Forged set. Is this a good choice?

Thanks,

paul

Default JE pistons, Pauter rods...

Carillo rods if you have the money.

Give JRC Motorsports a call, they can get JE pistons for just about any VW/Audi configuration (i.e. custom)

What's this for anyways?

Default Why not JE Rods that match the piston?

20MM, complete assembly. Its for a 1.8T AWP in a VDub GTI

Default Its an ongoing work.

I've posted that the engine blew a rod through the block. We are installing a new 1000 mile engine and putting all the mods on it. The thought is that the missing link to the mod are the stock piston/rods. The car is when tuned properly over 330 HP (not dynoed yet) Here is the current list of work.

Engine 1.8T, 6 speed tranny

-Garret T3T4e 50 trim and .48a/r turbo
-ATP cast iron exhaust manifold
-ATP 3" Downpipe
-Custom 3" test pipe with resonator(no cat)
-GHL 3" exhaust from test pipe back
-TyrolSport fuel pump
-TyrolSport adjustable fuel pressure regulator
-ATP front mount intercooler
-AEM cold air intake
-s4 3" MAF housing
-Custom 3" turbo inlet pipe
-440cc injectors
-Greddy Porfec B spec2 electric boost controller
-VDO boost guage: Pillar mount
-Greddy EGT guage:Pillar mount
-Autometer dual guage:Pillar mount

Transmission/Suspension/Wheels
-SPEC stage3 clutch
-SPEC lightweight flywheel
-Quaife Limited Slip Differential
-HPA short shifter(dual setting)
-Bilstein sport shocks/struts
-H&R Sport Springs

Default I think so... and me as well.

He ordered the set of JE Pistons and Rods from ECS. I just wanted to make sure it was the right choice. At about 1600.00 including the Eurospec Rods, its a lot of his $$...is it being spent right.
