Default Porterfield R4S pads coming off the car. Audi tech says they're ruining my rotors.

First off - let me say that this is not a case of the anti-aftermarket dealer. My dealer sells performance mods and has installed lots of my mods including suspension, exhaust, etc.

Anyway, when they took the brakes out to see what's going on today (I've been having mushy pedal problems and lack of bite), they noticed that the pads had chattered the rotors all to crap, and were moving around a lot in the calipers. I had the service manager write a letter to this effect and I will be sending the pads back to Porterfield.

Weird: I had the same problem with EBC Greens. IS it something to do with the 99.5MY??? My EBCs squealed insanely loud and clunked over bumps.

Sooooooo.......are there any aftermarket pads out there with the same retaining clips on the back that the stock ones have? I've had it with aftermarket pads so far - I intend to deal with the stockers on the street and get some dedicated race pads to use for track events.

Do any race pads have the clips???

Default You can make the clips fit the aftermakret pads...just drill a couple small holes in the

same location of the stock backing plate and it'll work.

Default best pads for the money and perfromance

please let me recommend REMSA Gold pads...i have them on my 94' 90CS w/Zimmermanns and they rock...no squeking and very little dust..and rotors still feelgreatand look brand new, been on for 1 1/2yrs..no warping like my old ATE slotted rotors and Mintex crap pads..let me know if you all are interested...i have the BEST hook up in the land...getting Zimmermanns and Remsa's in the back and its costing me only $86.00..cant beat that..

Default Ah, it's not some factory perfect pad, it'll smoke the doors off all but...

the Pagids. The slop is from the lack of clip. Drill it. You have a choice, killer brakes or some noise.
